I can’t speak for others really, but I don’t think you really understand the depth of faith that emergent Christians have.
Speaking for myself, I found the video lacking in depth. What happened to the rest of it? I am sure the story continues. The cowardly minister is not dead, life continues, so does hope and repentance. I think the minister’s story is left unfinished. I’m thinking of a novel I read a while back (and now that I’m thinking about it, maybe I should reread it, it’s a great story, and one that has shaped my faith), The Power and the Glory, by Graham Greene. The story of your minister continues there.
BTW, that minister wasn’t emergent… he’s driving an SUV! And where’s the goatee! He’s probably one of those Reformed ministers. :^) Cotton-picken, the gunman is probably more emergent than the minister! Since he obviously knows how to deconstruct a Christian.
I forgot a link to the book I mentioned, The Power and the Glory, by Graham Greene: http://www.amazon.com/Power-Glory-Penguin-Classics/dp/0142437301
And I didn't answer your question (I wonder if the post moderns or Emergents would die for a faith that they are not sure about?). I laughing at my own comment above that I forgot to mentioning one last thing. It is my hope that if or when the time comes I'll be able to say what Christian de Chergé said when his time came. (It's a bit long for a post, so I'll just put a link): http://didymuspov.blogspot.com/2008/01/best-christian-response-ive-found-to.html
The link didnt work Didymus.
