Calvinist (James White) vs. a ????

Here is a great debate that is a 5 part series on the Doctrines of Grace.

James White debates Stephen Gregg. I am not sure what Gregg's position is at all he is all over the board but it appears he might be sympathetic to Open Theism.

I've seen a few debates with James White a few years back, when he would come out here during Conference. Those debates always irritated me. The two “contestants” would talk past each other, and rarely really listened to each other. The Mormons I spoke with always thought their guy did okay, and that White was combative (as well as the audience, with all their gasps made whenever the Mormon speaker said something they despised). The Reformed guys always thought the Mormon speaker was a bit on the dumb and/or blind side of things, and that James White was awesome. After going to a couple of debates I began to think of them as a waste of time. Do they still have those going on?

Some debates are like that Thomas. This one was really good and seemed fair. I did think that James came out as standing more in line with the text then Stephen did.

Thanks so much for this link!

I actually attended Steve Gregg's Bible school the year after graduating from high school, 1991-1992. He and my dad were good friends for several years, but have not been as close in recent years.

I'm looking forward to listening to the debate when I can set aside an hour (or five). Since I've listened to untold hours of his lectures, I'm more interested in the interaction entailed in the debate format. And the subject is one I'm currently struggling with, so, again, thanks for the heads-up.
