Your comment on I Tim 2 was incorrect in two different ways:

1) The quiz doesn't mention headcoverings, nor does I Tim 2 (the headcovering passage is in I Cor 11)

2) I cor 11 says nothing about prostitution. The headcovering passage says that headcoverings reflect the God designed heirarchy between men and women.

As it is written:

7For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.

Sorry I didn’t reply earlier, but I’ve been busy. I have a new job, and there’ve been a few events to go to this past week. In your list of a “few principles” I can see where you’re coming from. I think the biggest difference I have from them that I will mention is that I at bottom see all reading as interpretation. If you pick up a book, any book, and read it, then you will be applying things you’ve learned, and things like the “common sense” our culture has taught you, to your act of reading. So, there is no real way of avoiding what you have mentioned as "well the Bible says this to me". IOW, even if I totally agreed with your statement “The Bible is the AUTHORITY our interpretation is NOT”, the very act of picking up the Bible, and reading it, the very best you can get out of it is at most only your own interpretation of it.

… until we get to Question 8 which is about Homosexuality. First God has not changed his position on Marriage between one man and one woman ever. So it is an irrelevant question.

Earlier this past week I went and watched the documentary film For The Bible Tells Me So, over at Westminster. It was the last film of their Dogma & Doubt film series. It is specifically about homosexuality, Christianity, and how these mix in a kinda liberal Christian way. I do think it’s a good film to watch, and makes some good points, despite my disagreeing with several parts of it. (Now I know you’ll disagree with it in total, maybe you have you seen it? If you haven’t, I recommend it.) I think it at least makes a good case for the hermeneutical relevancy of Question 8.

I would say that a right understaning of Scripture has become much more important to me in the last year and a half and I can see how a faulty hermaneutic causes so many problems.

I kind of find it ironic that C.T. even knows the word, since they certainly don't practice it.

If the churches of today would look into the text and understand the correct way to read the Bible, we would avoid so much heresy.

Kind of encouraging to be one of the FUNDIES that these liberals are speaking of.
