Mainstream media finally covers the Christian persecution in India

Bloody anti-Christian riots broke out here in late August, rampages by Hindu hard-liners that since then have left at least 38 people dead, as many as 30,000 homeless and dozen of churches destroyed. The worst of the violence ended after a week or so, when authorities finally deployed soldiers to set up checkpoints and relief camps.

Since Eastern Philosophy has permeated our Culture this is coming to a town near you. Especially considering the potential if Obama takes office.

Didymus,

I would like to see a New York Times article that covers it as well as this one.

First you are exaggerating about that numbers. There are many more than 15 Hindu's in Utah. Given the fact that New Ageism is an offshoot of Hinduism and Buddism we have more to account for there as well.

The difference between Christians and Hindus is "True" Christians do not resort to violence to proselytize. Hindus, Buddist, and Muslims are the ones who kill Christians.

I think what you should be concerned about is the general hatred for "Christianity" in America today. It is rampant and if you do not believe me turn on any TV and you will see 3-5 pejorative comments, skits or lines around making fun of or showing disdain for Christ and His followers. If certain people are elected then we will be told how to think, vote, and what morals we should live by. Prop 8 is a great example of this. They are changing the playing field and the rules of the game. It will not be long until they attempt to silence those who believe in truth, after that the hostility will only grow.

Didymus,

Could you have possible written a more asinine and pointless post?

Of course you should not be concerned at all with this news. Heck, your not even concerned with the slaughter of innocent babies but only with being "relevant."

This post is for those who care about those suffering persecution for standing for the truth of Jesus Christ and the truths once for all delivered to the Body of Christ. As an emergent, you have already discarded those truths for the hope of an ancient future new experience.

I for one do not take these things lightly. Yes, we go out on the corner to preach the Word of God. What do you do? Oh, nothing but have deeeeeep conversations and call it "church?" Oh, I see.

Oh, and Didy,

Just to clear up your silly attack on our character....

I am not even slightly a Calvinist. So it looks like all kinds of Christians, (well, at least those who care about orthodoxy and doing what the Lord commanded)go out and preach to others.

See, that is where you are wrong.

I do not fear what man can do here. I am only aware that persecution (of which we here in America really do not understand)is real and that it is only going to get worse.

My Lord said so. He guaranteed us trials, temptations, persecutions, and the like. We were told to count the cost and I count any cost I am called to pay as nothing compared to the riches to be found in Him.

But you have nothing to worry about. Your kind wont experience the persecutions. Your religion is not a threat to the god of this world. It is just that; religion.

When it breaks out, it will be those who take an uncompromising stand on the Word of God that will face the trials.

You are in a nice safe place. Enjoy.

Well, unless you come to find out that the emergent faith you had was not the one that brings you into a salvational place with the Christ......
